Uniplex was established in 1978 in Northampton, England.

By 1985 it had become necessary to open a factory and this was achieved in the former barracks in Langsett Rd, Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

The business continued to grow and in 1989 the decision was taken to buy sufficiently large premises in Sheffield to house both the manufacturing and repair facility, the offices and the administration.

This was to become the current facility at Furnace Hill which together with an extension built in 1994, [opened by the then Master Cutler, Derek Willingham] now services over 240 customers in the UK and many more throughout Europe and the rest of the World.

The local area boasts fine skills in surgical instrument manufacture and repair & some of those craftsman are employed to help operate the companies' core business of providing support services to Sterile Services and Operating Theatres.
